The Retention Room.
Why her lashes fall off in nine days.
Bad retention is not a talent problem. It is a chemistry problem.
One live night with Destyni Triplett, RN to understand why extensions fall out too soon, what you may be missing before the appointment even starts, and what to change before your next client. Haven't taken your first client yet? Come anyway. This is the part that is much easier to learn before you have anything to unlearn.

Three acts.
One answer.
One hour, in three parts, on the one thing your training probably skipped. You leave knowing why it didn't last, what to change before your next client sits down, and what it has been costing you every time she doesn't rebook.
Why it doesn't last
Cyanoacrylate, humidity, cure time, and the oils that quietly dissolve your work. This is the part most training cannot teach, because most people teaching it were never taught it either.
The three conditions in your room that decide how long her set lasts.
It is decided before you pick up a tweezer
Her skincare, her shower, her mascara, where she is in her own lash cycle. Four questions asked at intake will tell you what her set is going to do, and let you say it out loud before she finds out the hard way.
Ask them at your next appointment. Watch what changes.
A set that lasts is a client who comes back.
This is where retention stops being just about the lashes and starts being about your money. Because when her set lasts, she trusts you. She comes back. She rebooks before she ever leaves the chair.
We’re getting into the aftercare she’ll actually follow, the day-three check-in that helps you catch a problem before it turns into a complaint, and how better retention keeps you from chasing clients down when it’s time to book again.
The exact day-three message to send, what to look for in her response, and how it can save the clients you would’ve lost.
Here is what happens on day nine.
She sends the photo. Half the set, and a message that starts with "hey, so..." You already know what it says before you open it.
So you apologise. You offer to fix it for nothing. You spend two hours and your product on a set you already got paid for once, and you tell her it is no trouble.
And then you quietly stop posting your work.
Not because you decided to. Because you are not sure it will last, and you cannot bear to have that conversation again. So you do not raise your price. You do not ask for the referral. You get smaller, one apology at a time.
If one of those is yours, this is the room I built for you.
Retention is not a measure of how good you are. It is chemistry and it is consultation, and almost nobody teaches either one.
Every set that sheds early is a woman who does not come back and does not send her friend. You are not losing one appointment. You are losing every fill she would have booked for the next two years, and the six friends she would have sent you.
So when you catch yourself thinking you need more clients, look again. A chair that empties as fast as it fills is not a marketing problem. You can post every day of your life and you will still be carrying water in a bucket with a hole in it.
You do not need more clients. You need the ones you already have to come back. That starts with knowing why it doesn't last, and that is one hour, and it is Tuesday.

The last couple days been exciting and nerve wracking for me. I took the advice from the VIP and did my first client today. And have 3 appointments lined up for next week. I only have 1 slot left and 2 girls are asking for it.

Destyni Triplett, RN.
Registered Nurse. Lash Educator. Founder of Rich Lash® University.
I teach retention differently because I see it through both lenses. I have spent nine years behind the lash bed and six years as a Registered Nurse.
So when I look at retention, I am not only looking at the lashes. I am looking at the full picture. The chemistry matters. The eye and skin matter. What happened before the appointment matters. What the client does after the appointment matters. And the questions you ask before you ever pick up a tweezer matter.
After more than 1,000 clients served and 250+ women trained, I do not believe retention should feel like something you cross your fingers and hope for. Once you understand what you are looking for, it stops feeling random.
